I've decided on a whim that if I want to put something in character in this thread, I'll do it in blue, like so:
"You think me a con artist?" China seemed genuinely surprised. "I cannot comprehend where you got that notion. I can hardly be held responsible if a person chooses to give me a gift, now can I? It is not as though I lied; I offered nothing and they did not ask."
I'm afraid China isn't that likely to have experience in first aid. Mostly she would keep herself out of situations where she could be hurt, and if she were harmed then she would generally go to a reputable healer, using her talents to avoid awkward questions. She's no stranger to pain - Rav's description of how those runic tattoos would be made sounded very painful - so she wouldn't panic at being injured and might know enough to avoid making it worse, but genuine first aid is unlikely. That said, she is an illusionist, and healing is from the same school, so she might be able to wing it, or learn a few things on this quest.

See, I can't help but read her name as Chiana, the blue skinned chick from Farscape.

You mean the Nebari, and she was blue-grey. Xan was blue.

Drive one: Serve and Protect Murtan's family are relatively new to their nobility and, as such, have not become as...jaded as other members of the "elite". They are acutely aware that their station comes from the people "beneath" them. As such, part of the reason Murtan focussed on his combat training so intently was so that he could fulfil his family's traditional role as part of the town's defence. He will never allow an innocent to come to harm if he can help it, though he knows that in a fight it is foolish to try to defend every civilian. As such he will stop crimes such as assault and muggings where possible, and in a battle he will always aim to finish it as quickly as possible. Drive two: "It's not about power, it's about grace" A key part of Murtan's training is the tenet that a well placed blow is far better than a strong blow. Armour may resist the strongest blow a man can muster, but it will have a weak spot. As a result of this Murtan's fighting is more dexterous than that of most who fight with sword and shield as he looks to make his opponent swing and miss while probing for weaknesses rather than trying to wear his opponent down through sheer strength. Also, edited my equipment to include a standard pistol. Nothing fancy, just felt weird not having a ranged weapon that could be used with precision. Also, I can now potentially quote an awesome line from one of my favourite songs in a combat post.

Chiana was blue-ish, close enough.

"Okay, sure you're not a con artist" Jason shrugged, smiling "But you certainly didn't hesitate to accept that shiny trinket that last merchant just gave you" Jason finished with a cheeky smile at ChinaWhy do I suspect their is going to be out of RP RP going on this time around? In my head I pronounce her name as "Chee-nah." Aliss is just "Alice" and Murtan is pronounced in a similar why to murder. Mur der for a Tan

"Why turn down free things? If you can get them, you should. I never said being a Con Artist was a BAD thing now did I?"And, yeah, it might happen
Hopefully we can move to start this thing now. If TD is able to get to a computer then his character can meet up with us on the road or at one of the hundreds of inns or taverns that litter fantasy settings.

Murtan may also be known as Murt for short, his first name is taken from Murtan Feygor of the Gaunt's Ghosts series, a man who was arguably the closest thing to an explosives expert that the Ghosts had. Domor, the surname is taken from the same series, the best explosives sweeper who eventually had bionic eyes.

As to the questions about first aid… most of you how to treat minor cuts and scrapes, as most people would. Anything more serious could be problematic. Jason and Murtan are the most likely to ones to know actual first aid, both being competent hunters/warriors, so that's a necessary skill being in the wilds.

"He was a nice man, wasn't he?" China smiled fondly at the recollection. "I do hope his wife won't be upset with him for giving away such a fine locket. It looks like a family heirloom."
I pronounce her name the same way I pronounce the country. That said, it's more a reference to china pottery; delicate and beautiful. Come to think of it, would it still be called china in this setting?
I can also say that she is most definitely not blue, although now I'm half expecting some bizzare situation to get her covered in blue paint at some point.
"Don't you dare!"
I'll do my best to avoid it, I promise.
"You had better..."

It's also Cockney rhyming slang for mate. China - China plate - Mate.

As to the other matter… we've been over this

Nevermind, I'll keep the name as is. Maybe I'll get a potter to fall in love with her and name his work after her.
Also... *glances around to make sure China isn't still listening in* Maybe that's why I did it; turning blue as a reference joke could be fun.

Should Mkoll or I add First Aid to our "abilities" or is it too late to include such things?

Should Mkoll or I add First Aid to our "abilities" or is it too late to include such things? They're not special abilities as such, so there's no need to add them—unless you wanted to be exceptionally good (combat medic level) at first aid.

Sorry for taking so long guys. I have this weird thing called a social life now.... Still not sure how that one happened. *shrugs* don't sure about the story so far but the graphics are fantastic. Ok, down to business. I was thinking about going a merc/combat engineer/warrior mix. But having seen everyone's characters now, I'm not sure that's needed. I might keep the same basic background but change the mechanics side to be a merc/combat medic mage/warrior. Either way, I kinda want to run around in light scale armour with twin combat axes and be a merc. I'll have a look at the XD20 mechanics stuff and go from there.
I'm torn. I kinda want to bring Tybalt back, but I also want to build a follower of Nyvan. Tybalt had heading abilities, but I love the idea of being a clockwork master.
