In the middle of a fight, really? Well no, obviously. But I could build one while we are in a town. I'd need the parts and material though.

And before we get to a town? In fact, that's point, is our healer even armed or is he going to be even more vulnerable than Emily was?

Well, yes, but that's a minor detail. It's also not self-defence capability. Though she did at least own a pair of flintlocks.

For a while, until a hellbear ate one.

For a while, until a hellbear ate one. No, it was my sword the hellbear ate. Had to get Tybalt to make me a new one.

Something happened to one of her pistols though, I am sure of it. Stupid forum crashes.

She may have lost one in a later fight or something.
I've been toying with the idea of tweaking my health so I'm better at smithing/explosives crafting, as I'm assuming that's based on talent, but I'm not sure. Thoughts?

You are the tank, you need all the health you can get.

I know, but I was thinking it might come in handy for working with TD to make pressure plate mines etc

But when would we use them? I could help make clock work fuses, we might even find a need for them. But I don't see us using mines. Unless you plan to sell them for money.

I was thinking if we need to defend a place again, like the workshop from the other storyline or something. Or even just for me replacing my grenade stockpile.

Did you consider that as a master of the arts of Artifice, he would probably be better at this than you?

Given that I have over a decade training as a smith and ~4 years training with explosives and there's no mention of it in his backstory, I'm guessing not. Maybe in general smithing, but explosives is more likely my area of expertise.

Well talon is specialised in clockwork making, he probably learned basic smithing and forging techniques as part of his training. He mostly made kids toys and basic bits of automata for rich people, so most of what he's worked on isn't that large. And no, no explosives. He wouldn't have a clue how to make it.
Rav, how is mining done in this world? Is it lots of people chipping away at a work face? Or do Geomancers crumble the work face while making supports out of stone and non mages drag the rubble away for processing?

Or do Geomancers crumble the work face while making supports out of stone and non mages drag the rubble away for processing? Both. Depending on the wealth of the company, and access to Talented workers, it can be done the old fashioned way with pick axes and manual labour; the fancy way, with geomancers; or the new way, with sufficient application of industrial explosives—which is really just an effective combination of both, but without magick. Ore processing is done at forges, which may be magickal or mundane, as is usual in this setting. Bauxite (Aluminium) processing remains the most complex, resulting in a metal that is almost as expensive as elemental silver due to the strain placed on the fulgromancer's extracting the metal.

When did Rav change the Storyline title? It sorta feels like ye olde expansion to a game "Enter: The Darkness The Sunken Island Saga"

Have the sudden feeling, I ain't getting back to Hygar anytime soon. Maybe I was waylaid while heading to the deal.
Rav, did you mean to put fulgromancer?

I did. Most aluminium smelting is done in an arc furnace. What's the closest kind of magick to that in Firma? Also, that's processing/refining, not mining.

Ah ok. Makes sense. Be another reason it's so hard to process, finding Fulgromancers of sufficient skill and power, and then convincing them to do it.
